Reasons To Consider A First Look

Traditionally couples would wait until the ceremony to see each other for the very first time. However, as the first look gains popularity, we’ve seen many couples opting for it instead – and oh my, we’re swooning at the raw and heartfelt moments captured. If you’re in two minds about seeing your partner ahead of time, here are our top 5 reasons to consider a first look.

Privacy & Intimacy

Often your wedding day will go by in a blink of an eye. Your time is carefully divided by chatting to guests and taking photos, leaving you with little to no time to just take a moment and celebrate with your new husband or wife. The first look allows for some privacy before the actual ceremony whereby you and your partner can completely immerse yourself in what is to be the start of your new life together. Trust us, this is something you will treasure forever!

Calms The Nerves

Not everyone enjoys the spotlight and on your wedding day, you will most definitely be the center of attention. Being with your partner beforehand will help calm those nerves. We’ve seen it ample times where a bride sees her groom for the first time (or vice versa) and immediately she’s less anxious and jittery.

Your Partner’s Reaction

Okay, this is seriously one of our very favourite reasons to consider the first look! There’s something so special about looking back at your wedding photos and seeing your partner’s reaction when they see you for the first time. Often men struggle to show emotion, but time during the first look will allow your groom to be at ease and express his raw emotion. How stunning are these first look moments? Yup, we told you so!

Free Time

Not only will you get those glorious first look images, but you’ll also have more time for couple portraits. By using this time for couple portraits, you’ll have more free time to spend with your guests and be present on your wedding day.

Fresh Faces

There’s a 99% chance that you will cry when seeing your partner for the first time. However, the first look allows you to freshen up before the ceremony. We can’t guarantee that you wont cry for the second time while walking down the aisle, though!
